Trouble Magia Review: The game I enjoyed but...

Took a few weeks to finish this game. Honestly, I quite enjoyed it while playing it but... I don't know why, I was just not very emotionally invested in this one.

Sypnosis:

  • MC is from Kingdom of Sanan and becomes an exchange student enrolled in magic elite school in Eldiel Kingdom
  • Her main element of magic is water
  • She has a curse which causes her to transform into random animals randomly for few minutes
  • Likes embroidery
  • Orphaned at 4, adopted by aunt
  • Has a condition called magic hyperactivity

LI impressions:

Ricardo Sante
  • general affairs in student council
  • Magic Knight dept
  • likes meat
  • fire mage
  • proud tsun ore-sama type
  • competitive, wants to be the strongest magic knight in the country
  • Route is ok, fluffy and cute
Alexei Eldiel
  • vice president
  • astronomy and anicient magic language
  • 2nd prince of Kingdom
  • hot older bro Gerard
  • childhood friend with Ricardo, enjoys teasing him
  • BEST BOY
Lars Klotz
  • Magical biology dept
  • student council record keeper
  • likes cats and animals, not humans
  • a genius
  • lazy trope, bored and sleepy all the time
  • Route is ok, backstory kinda sad but not too bad
Isaiah Klein
  • Magic Instruments Dept
  • accountant of student council
  • childhood friend and like older bro, protective and caring
  • blushes a lot! so cute
  • son of Klein company
  • I like the route cuz it's so funny and his visuals are great but... the older bro trope not my thing
Sion Caldo
  • Studying to be royal family doctor
  • President
  • dark magic user (rare)
  • from family of doctors
  • likes animals but animals doesn't like him
  • usually calm
  • saddest route but execution could be better
  • LI Ranking: Sion = Alexei > Isaiah > Ricardo = Lars
  • Route Ranking: Alexei > Sion > Isaiah >= Lars > Ricardo

Pros

  • Pretty art
  • a lot of outfit changes like 7-8 varieties
  • Characters are all likeable and cute
  • Well developed romance, MC would spend a lot of time with LIs to get to know them
  • Route has sweet, funny, mystery and mildly steamy moments
  • Voice acting 10/10

Cons

  • CGs sometimes only appear during moments that didn't require CGs
  • some CGs quite static and plain
  • Some CGs, lips not touching
  • Characters are not that complex and plot is quite simple
  • Storytelling not very compelling, one route had a revelation where it's all from a character just text dumping

Review:

  • Game doesn't have a deep plot or anything. Main goal is to lift MC's curse and every LI will focus on their magic specialty to do so
  • Romance developed quite gradually and well in every route
  • All LIs are charming in their own ways, honestly was hard to rank cuz they're all quite cute
  • A lot of funny scenes thanks to MC's curse and lively personality
  • An enjoyable, light hearted game overall but I personally like more dark plot, more despair, more steam LOL

Rating: 7/10
