Akaza Stellaworth Story
“Good morning, please inspect the contents again today.”
"Good morning. It looks like something good happened."
At that, she opens her bag vigorously.
"Yes! Look! I got ten letters today! Isn't that wonderful?"
"I think it's a wonderful thing. Your actions have borne fruit."
– A month has passed since the day the torii gate turned white.
Neither I nor she had intended to reveal anything, but we couldn't ignore the three pillars of heaven that had suddenly changed color, so Douma and Jigen spoke to the people in unison.
The biggest change would be everyone's attitude towards [Olympia].
Everyone now bows their heads to her, as if they have never heard the vulgar rumors in the plaza and town, or blamed her for everything that has happened to them.
Generally speaking, I love this island and this world, but I can't simply let bygones be bygones with those who tried to hurt her. I'm going to hold on to this anger for a while.
"Ten... It's certainly nice to have more letters, but if there are more than this, we'll have to consider other ways."
Her hand, which was previously lining up the letters in front of me with excitement, stops. "Huh? Something like that?"
"Supposing that the number of letters reaches twenty, then it will be impossible for you, the only person behind this effort, to deliver them yourself."
Her expression hardens.
"Please throw away the notion of ‘if there is a will, there is a way’ – that you'll be fine because you'll do your best. As the number of letters increases, so does the responsibility you bear."
"Well, I think I understand that. But if that happens, I should be happy that the number of people who write letters increases, right? I don't want to pour cold water on everyone's feelings."
"If you can't deliver all by yourself, why don't you hire more people?"
Her eyes become round.
I can confidently say that I love everything about her, but what I like the most about her is the richness of her facial expressions. Growing up carefree on Tennyo Island, she probably didn't need to learn to deceive or flatter anyone. Crying and laughing naturally, and then sulking the next second. But by no means does that mean that she is foolish. Despite her cheerful personality, I too can sense the dauntlessness of her father from his blood flowing within her.
"Increasing the number of people...do you mean having someone to help?"
"That’s what it means."
She stares at the ten letters lined up with a bewildered look on her face.
"I-indeed…it’s like what Akaza said. If there were more letters, I definitely wouldn't be able to do the deliveries by myself...but..."
『Um, Akaza. Would you like to eat half of this jam?』
『But it's thanks to you that I'm able to eat such wonderful food.』
Back then when she said those things, I almost hugged her and kissed her on the spot.
She had looked so happy and adorable, and it made my heart soar to hear her say that she wanted to eat such a precious thing with me.
“No, it’s nothing. I will think about it when the time comes that there are more letters,” she muttered.
"It’s not like you’ll never get jam again,” I say teasingly.
She rolls her eyes while pouting. “I don’t deliver for the jams.”
Everyone knows that. Perhaps she feels down that she would have less opportunity to talk to everyone and that she wouldn’t be able to deliver those letters herself. Of course, she knows that more people writing letters is a good change.
“How about making a letter bureau in the spare room that we have here?”
“…Akaza? Mr. Director?”
"And you can be the director."
“…Director?”
"If you agree, I'll finish cleaning and bring in the desk today while you're out on a delivery."
"Wait!? Isn't the issue suddenly getting too big?"
"It's better than panicking later."
『It's not like you to abuse your authority. I had a hard time holding back my laughter when you were so quick to authorize the delivery and the bill. You must really like her that much.』
I must keep the fact that I was laughed at by Kuroba a secret forever.
"The director...you're exaggerating."
She doesn’t realize it yet, how much the seeds she has planted have the potential to bear fruit in abundance.
"I'm worried."
"Worried? Of delayed deliveries?"
“Assuming you deliver all 30 letters by yourself. If that happens, you won’t have time to come over and talk to me like this. By the time you finish it will be late at night and it will be difficult for me to visit you in the hideout."
She looks to be speechless and stands with her face bright red.
"I was wondering what the director of the Kotowari was going to say, but this kind of thing…"
"Then when I want to kiss you, can I hug you in the middle of the street instead of waiting until we get to the hideout?"
She turns away sulkily, her cheeks still flushed red. “I-Is it fun to say mean things like that?”
"I don't mind at all, but I think you're embarrassed."
"Mr. Director, the inspection has not been completed yet. Please refrain from making personal remarks and fulfill your duties promptly."
“Then what about my responsibilities as your future husband?”
I loosely grab a tuft of her silvery-white hair.
“A-Akaza… Huh?”
Seeing her startled and suddenly tensing in front of me, I can’t help but think of a certain image – that time when this pure white hair is dyed bright red.
"As your future husband, shouldn’t I be allowed to worry about you? It would also be a problem if you work too hard on your deliveries that it interferes with your stage."
"I don’t mean to show you my clumsiness to that extent…"
She’s a bit timid when replying to me, probably because she understands her own personality.
The way she takes action from the moment she makes up her mind, and the way she tends to become absorbed to the point it becomes dangerous. Alas, even those things about her I find lovely.
"This might turn into a huge issue, but if you want it, we can hire people from [Kou] and [Otsu] to help."
Her face lights up. She has never looked so happy even when I whisper my love to her.
"That’s right…that kind of thing is possible, isn't it? I guess my worldview is still too small. Thank you for your wonderful advice, Mr. Director."
"You're welcome. I'll give you any kind of advice or abuse my authority to increase my time with you."
I tangle my fingers in her hair again and bring my face close to hers.
"...U-Um?"
『More…dye me in more and more red. Dye me in so much red that even Amaterasu-sama, who hates [red], will run away.』
I don’t particularly have good feelings towards beings such as gods, but I want to praise whoever gave the [white] women such power.
Is there any man who would not be pleased to see the woman he loves dyed in his own color? What man wouldn't feel his desire rising by the sight of her dyed in his own color?
"Just for a second…so that your hair color won’t change."
She holds her breath and steps back slightly as though to run away. Yes, just slightly.
"No, no... this is the director's office, and I'm going to deliver...ten mails."
"That’s why I said…just for a second..."
The distance between us is so close that it’s hard to tell whether we are already touching, or if it were our lips, or sighs. She has her eyes thinly closed and her shoulders stiffen.
"R-really...just for a second, okay? I'm...in a hurry."
I love the moment when she can't take it anymore and raises her head.
She is certainly uninhibited due to her upbringing on a women-only island, but when it comes to pleasure, she is still a bit of a klutz and had at first tried desperately to endure it.
Is there a man who does not go mad when he sees such an endearing sight?
"If you run out of time, I'll take responsibility and help with today's delivery."
"A-Akaza..!? No..."
I need to get her to raise her voice as soon as possible, so that she – the hard-working person that she is – doesn't run out of things to do. But I also don't want anyone else to hear her sweet voice, so in conclusion, I have to keep kissing her.
Until her hair is dyed red, crimson, vermilion, scarlet –
– my color.
