Ryoshi - Birthday Short Story

Ryoshi "Oh, there you are! Let's go~"

Yurika "Kidnapper!"

Ryoshi "Don't say such disgraceful words! I went out of my way to clear my schedule for you."

Ryoshi "I would never have gone out with you if you hadn't gotten me a ticket to the premiere of my favorite pianist. Well, I would like to thank you in advance for your kind attention to this matter. Thank you."

Ryoshi "Anyways, we have some time before the concert starts, let's eat then buy a dress. No objections, right? Now, get in the car."

Yurika "Let's fly, brother!"

Ryoshi "Poor choice of words. Where exactly did you learn such words? Me?"

Ryoshi "So, what do you want to eat?"

Yurika "I want to eat Brother's favourite food!"

Ryoshi "My favourite food? Curry? No, that's... Well, how about sandwiches or something light? It would be a nuisance if you ate too much and got sick."

Ryoshi "I'll let you eat. Are you an idiot? You only say those words to a guy you like."

Ryoshi "Ahh... I want to sigh. I'm the one who has to take care of you."

Yurika "Are you my grandpa?"

Ryoshi "I will hit you. Well, I already did."

Ryoshi "Look, try this next dress."

Yurika "Help me lift the zipper."

Ryoshi "You should be more aware of your surroundings! Is the store person around? Chi, can't help it then. Turn your back to me, I'll close the zipper."

Ryoshi "Well, I can see it now. I guess it's not so bad, right? Time is running out. I think we should head to the venue."

Ryoshi "Piano, huh? When was the last time I played it?"

Yurika "I want to hear Brother's performance!"

Ryoshi "Not me, you should listen to a pro. Come on, focus."

Ryoshi "I quit the piano when I was in college. But until now, I'd still buy some CDs. Classical or jazz piano music, I like them all."

Ryoshi "The fact that I like piano and that I used to learn it, only you and a few other people know about it. Don't you ever tell anyone about this, okay?"

"After the concert ends..."

Ryoshi "(Humming happily)"

Yurika "Brother, you know you're humming right?"

Ryoshi "Ah sorry. Today's songs are so much better than before. As expected, live performances are the best."

Ryoshi "Thank you for today. I thought it was candy or something, but it turned out to be an unexpected gift."

Ryoshi "Are you free after this? Can you come with me for a bit? It's been a while since I've had a chance to try it myself."

Ryoshi "It's White Day, right? I'll play a song for you."
